Delete Your Account
We're sorry to see you go! This page explains how to delete your New Year's Inspirations account and all associated data.
⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your resolutions, tasks, progress, and account data will be permanently deleted.
What Data Will Be Deleted?
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:
Your email address and authentication credentials
All your resolutions and tasks
Progress tracking and completion history
User preferences and settings
Any other personal data associated with your account
How to Delete Your Account
Method 1: Delete Within the App (Recommended)
Open the New Year's Inspirations app on your device
Open the side menu by clicking on the icon on the top left that looks like 3 bars
Tap on Delete Account
Confirm your decision
Your account and all data will be deleted immediately
Note: You may be asked to sign in again for security purposes before deletion.
Method 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email:
Send an email to privacy@hopefull.ie
Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
Include the email address associated with your account
We will process your request within 48 hours
You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete

Data Retention After Deletion
After you delete your account:
Immediate: Your account will be deactivated immediately and all personal data will be removed from active databases
Within 180 days: All backup copies will be permanently deleted
Alternatives to Deletion
If you're not ready for permanent deletion, consider these options:
Sign Out: Simply sign out of the app without deleting your account
Disable Notifications: Turn off notifications in app settings
Clear Data: Delete individual resolutions and tasks without deleting your account
